‘Hendrixisms abound on this record, but in my opinion it’s the best in the style, to Hendrix what Badfinger were to The Beatles’ - Endless Trip
‘Cool hard guitar funkpsychrock from a ‘close friend’ of Jimi Hendrix, who if nothing else shows an impressive grasp of Jimi’s best moves’ - The Acid Archives
As a teenager in New York in the late 60s, Velvert Turner realized the dream of countless aspiring guitarists when he befriended and received tuition from Jimi Hendrix. Blending acid rock, funk and soul, his only LP originally appeared in July 1972, and has been described as the greatest Hendrix-inspired album ever released. Both original mixes are presented here (for the first time), and the 2-CD set comes complete with biographical liner notes.
