“The five talented and popular young members of the Disciple are some of the most dynamic and refreshing performers to currently make the disco and college scene.

The Disciple are all from New York City, where they have been headlining in all the top discos in the tri-state area, such as the Honka Monka, Mystic Colossus, Misty, Club 42, Electric Circus, the Barge – and Greenwood Lake, Fairfield University, Rutgers University, Queens College, C.W. Post, Kings College, Nassau Community, Housitania College, and other schools and clubs.

Sandy Crespo is the lead singer for the Disciple. She is 19 years old. She has been singing since her high school days, where she met Al, Chris, John and Dennis, who at that time were playing together as ‘the Outer Limits’, and together they formed the Disciple. Sandy has one of the most powerful and dynamic female voices, and is also an excellent dancer and displays her talent during her exciting performances.

John Oliver is 20 years old and sings tenor and falsetto for the Disciple. Originally John played saxophone, but switched to guitar, which is more to his liking. John does most of the arranging for the group, and some writing. His future plans include being totally involved in all facets of the recording industry.

Dennis Mann is 20 years old. He sings and plays the cordovox and organ for the group. His unique and original ideas contribute to the overall exciting sound of the group. He is jokingly referred to as ‘the comedian’ of the group.

Al Christopher is 20 years old and plays drums. He lays down the driving beat for The Disciple, and sings first tenor and doubles some of the leads with Sandy. Al is probably one of the most exciting and colourful drummers in the business today.

Chris Shepperd is the oldest member of the group. He is 21 years old. Besides playing bass guitar, Chris sings and writes most of the original material. He is interested in composing music and is deeply involved in writing classical music as well as rock tunes.

The Disciple have been greatly influenced in recent years by the musical ability of the Beatles and the dynamic stage performances of Sly and the Family Stone. Onstage each member of the Disciple – by means of his individual performance – brings out his own personality, and together they make up a single unit which brings forth a complete feeling of joy and happiness throughout the audience. Wherever they go, the Disciple leave a trail of devoted admirers and lasting friends.”
